Glencoe senior Harrison Bright signed a baseball scholarship with Snead State Community College on Jan. 31 during a ceremony at Glencoe High School.

GHS principal Charlton Giles spoke about Bright as a player and a person.

“Not only is Snead getting a great pitcher, they are getting a great person. Harrison is a standout student and leader in this school. He sets a good example everyday and will do the same at Snead.”

Bright is the ace of the Yellow Jacket pitching staff. He has a pinpoint fastball, which is complimented by a great change up. During his junior campaign in 2011, Bright pitched a no-hitter (five innings) against area rival Susan Moore.

Bright said his parents and teammates are as much responsible for his success as he is.

“Everyone around me makes me better,” Bright said. “I am thankful to have such great teammates and wonderful parents.”

Bright is expected to make an immediate impact at Snead.
