Cardinals finish second at conference tennis tournament

Gadsden State finished runnerup in the Alabama Community College Conference Tournament on Saturday (Apr. 11) in Decatur.

Marion Military won the state title with 12 points, followed by Gadsden State with eight and Faulkner State with six. 

For the Cardinals, Jordan Younghouse defeated Marion’s Patrick Ryder, 4-6,7-6,7-5 to claim the No.4 singles title. 

Kyle Cavender defeated Faulkner State’s Atticus Bolling, 6-1, 6-3 to win the No.6 singles championship.

Younghouse and Michael Bizilia defeated Marion’s Ryder and Marty Birchmeier, 9-7, to win the No.3 doubles title.
