CharACTers Entertainment is presenting Cinderella on December 4, 5, 11 and 12 at 7 p.m. and December 6 and 13 at 2 p.m. in Wallace Hall of Gadsden State Community College.

CharACTers is performing Rodgers and Hammerstein version of the  timeless and enchanting fairy tale. This version of the story is brought to life with the hallmarks of originality, charm and elegance.

This version was first performed on television in 1957. The original starred Julie Andrews. The performance was a massive hit. Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella was the most widely viewed program in the history of the medium.

The production features amazing songs, including “In My Own Little Corner,” “Impossible/It’s Possible” and “Ten Minutes Ago.” Of course, the show also includes all the classic fairytale moments from the tale.

Tickets to the show are $12 for students and seniors and $15 for adults.

Tickets to Cinderella are now available for reservation online at www.wallacehall.org/rodgers-and-hammersteins-cinderella.html. Although tickets may be reserved online, they cannot be bought online. To complete online reservation orders, a representative will call. Tickets may be purchased in advance by calling 256-543-ARTS, at The Hardin Center for Cultural Arts or at the Wallace Hall box office the week of the show from 1 to 5 p.m. Tickets will also be available on show days  one hour before the performance starts.

CharACTers highly recommends purchasing advance tickets, as seating is limited.

CharACTers is using the performance as a way of giving back to the community. On Sunday, December 13, $1 for each ticket will be donated to the Make A Wish Foundation.

CharACTers was founded by Cody Carlton when he was only 16. CharACTers now produces plays and offers classes in the arts. The organization operates mostly through ticket sales, although community support has helped the program flourish. The cast and stage crew is comprised of volunteers.

The organization has about 500 volunteers a year. Carlton’s talent in directing attracted talent from local actors and even places as far as Birmingham.
