ECSO brings Lone Star Championship Rodeo to fairgrounds

The Etowah County Sheriff’s Office is bringing the Lone Star Championship Rodeo to Etowah County Friday, May 9 and Saturday, May 10 for a benefit to raise money for the Sheriff’s Office Mounted Unit and the Etowah Sheriff’s Charities.

Gates will open at 6 p.m. and the rodeo will start at 8 p.m. at the Etowah County Fairgrounds, located at 102 Griffin St. in Attalla

Advance tickets are $10 for adults; $8 for children. At the gates, tickets will be $15 for adults and $10 for children.

Tickets are available at Exchange Bank, Family Savings Credit Union and the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office.

On Thursday, the ECSO Mounted Unit hosted a special needs rodeo for children. More than 70 children from the Etowah County, Attalla, and Gadsden City school systems participated in the mini-rodeo put on by Lone Star Rodeo Company.

Students had the opportunity to ride a horse and steer, participate in barrel races and to enjoy the rodeo.
