Inspiration from God’s Word – Praying the Word of God

Those who know me, know that I often speak about praying the Word of God. To me, this is one of the most important disciplines we as believers can do to strengthen our faith. Isaiah 55:11 says, “It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it.” The Gospel of John tells us that His Words are Spirit and Truth. When we pray God’s Word, it marks us on the inside, changes, us and builds us up. Our hearts are transformed, which leads to a greater unity with God’s heart.

When Jesus was tempted by the devil in the wilderness, He quoted the Word of God. The devil left because of the power of the Word of God.

Jesus knew that speaking the Word of God would bring about a spiritual breakthrough during a difficult time of spiritual attack. Jesus modeled praying the Word of God in front of His disciples, for He wanted them to understand the power of the Word of God in intercession.

I would love to share some scripture, followed by prayers that you can pray. It is my hope that as you pray His Word more and more in your own life, you would begin to see a transformation taking place and your faith will be strengthened.

Psalm 23:1-4. “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness for the sake of His name. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me. Your rod and Your staff comfort me.” Father, thank you for being my Shepherd, my protector. You alone can bring me to a place of peace and rest, and you are the restorer of my soul! Lord, no matter what I am walking through now or in the future, I will not be fearful, for You, oh Lord, are with me!

Psalm 139:23-24. “Search me, God and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me and lead me in the way everlasting.” Father, I come to You today and ask You to search my heart. If You find anything offensive and not in line with Your truths, please show me and help me remove it from my life. May I be a light for You and may the life I lead draw others to You. Help me live my life on earth in a way that impacts eternity.

Philippians 4:6-7. “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Father, my heart feels anxious (tell God what is giving you anxiety).

I don’t like this feeling, but I’m thankful I can come to You and receive peace. I am coming to You because I know that only You can provide healing and calm for my soul. I lay down all my worries, all my physical and mental anxiety and any attempt at trying to control it all (tell Him the things you are laying down right now). I surrender it all to You. I need You. I need Your presence that transcends my human understanding. I trust that You are faithful, and I receive Your peace in my life toay.

Father, I pray that You would increase the faith of each person praying Your Word today and that they would sense Your presence like never before! Bless them and thank You for walking beside them!
