West End High lost in the Class 2A Elite Eight volleyball semifinals on Oct. 30 in Birmingham.
The Lady Patriots (37-18) opened the tournament with a 25-14, 25-8, 25-11 win over New Brockton before falling to eventual state champion Montgomery Academy, 25-18, 25-9, 25-18, in the semifinals.
West End’s Morgan Cleveland was named to the all-tournament team.
