Lady Titans top Fort Payne in shootout

Gadsden City remained undefeated in Class 6A, Area 13 play with a shootout victory over Fort Payne last Tuesday (March 14) at GCHS.
The Lady Titans got off to a fast start in the first 10 minutes with a pair of goals by Holly Swafford off assists from Brooke Jackson, Evie Millican and Anna Klaire Ashley.
After the Lady Wildcats scored two goals in the second half, the score remained 2-2 following two five-minute overtime sessions.
Swafford, Ashley, Solei Nunez and Reagan Brooks all converted on their penalty kicks in the shootout, with Brooks notching the deciding goal.
Freshman Ella Jennings made 12 saves, including two on during the shootout.
