Etowah 8, Fyffe 0; Etowah 7, Sand Rock 0
Etowah defeated Fyffe, 8-0, and Sand Rock, in four innings on Saturday, March 16 in Centre.
Against Fyffe for the Lady Blue Devils (12-7), Andralea Summerford went 2-for-2 with two RBI and a run scored; Bella Owen went 1-for-2 with a triple, two RBI and a run scored; Lauren Farmer had a home run, an RBI and a run scored; Kylee Wilder had a hit, an RBI and two runs scored; and Maggy Bennett (pictured above) had a hit, an RBI and a run scored.
Against Sand Rock, Elizabeth Gilliland went 2-for-2 with an RBI, Cali Wadley had a two-run single and Bella Owen had a hit, an RBI and a run scored.

Glencoe 4, Cherokee County 2
Cayse Willet’s score off an error in the bottom of the four proved to be the winning run in Glencoe’s 4-2 win over Cherokee County on Friday, March 15 Summer Crump’s RBI double later in the inning provided some insurance. Willet went 2-for-3 with a home run, an RBI and two runs scored, while Crump went 2-for-2 with an RBI. Crump was the winning pitcher, allowing five hits, one earned run and one walk while fanning two in six innings.

Sardis 9, Pleasant Valley 3
Sardis pushed across six runs in the second inning en route to a 9-3 victory in five innings over Pleasant Valley on Saturday, March 16. For the Lady Lions, Jalyn Hannah went 2-for-3 with a home run, a double, three RBI and a run scored, while Annah Kate Waldrep went 2-for-3 with a triple and two runs scored. Vada Wilmore and Alexa Lee each had a hit, two RBI and a run scored.

Gadsden City 15, Gaston 10
A nine-run fourth inning proved to be the difference as Gadsden City outlasted Gaston, 15-10, on Thursday, March 14. For the Lady Titans, Kiera Hampton went 3-for-4 with a home run, five RBI and two runs scored, while Raina Underwood went 2-for-4 with two doubles, four RBI and three runs scored. For the Lady Bulldogs, Mia Horne went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBI and three runs scored, while Sydney Fitts went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored. Vila Taliaferro had a two-run triple.

Hokes Bluff 4, Weaver 1
Lauren Hall’s solid pitching effort sparked Hokes Bluff’s 4-1 victory over Weaver on Thursday, March 14. In seven innings, Hall allowed six hits, one run and two walks while fanning nine. At the plate for the Lady Eagles (7-5-1), Abby Payne went 2-for-3 with a home run, an RBI and two runs scored, while Kadyn Howell went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Southside 8, Glencoe 5
Ava Ramsey, Rosie Garrett and Kadey Barbe each hit a home run in Southside’s 8-5 victory over Glencoe on Thursday, March 14. For the Lady Panthers (12-4-1), Barbe went 2-for-3 with three RBI and a run scored, Jovi Marble went 2-for-2 with a double, an RBI and a run scored; Ramsey went 1-for-3 with two RBI and two runs scored; Peyton Burrell went 2-for-3 with a run scored; and Garrett and Jasie Brooks each had a hit, an RBI and a run scored. Winning pitcher Jalyn Allen allowed six hits, five runs and one walk while fanning three. For the Lady Yellow Jackets, Jordyn Morris had a hit and two RBI, while Aubrey Maxwell had an RBI double.

West End 13, Holley Pond 0
An eight-run fourth inning put the finishing touch on West End’s 13-0 shutout over Holly Pond on Thursday, March 14 in Walnut Grove. For the Lady Patriots (9-0) Jada Wright went 2-for-2 with two doubles, three RBI and a run scored; Libby Falkner went 3-for-3 with two RBI and three runs scored; Josie Bunch went 2-for-3 with two runs scored; and Daleigha Wheeler had a hit and two runs scored. Bunch earned the win, allowing three hits and no walks with three strikeouts.

Ashville 7, Ragland 2
Ashville put across six runs in the first inning on the way to a 7-2 win over Ragland on Thursday, March 14. For the Lady Bulldogs (9-4), Ashlynn Layfield went 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored, while Lexi St. John and Grace Click each went 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI and a run scored. Jayda Burgess earned the win on the mound, allowing one hit, no earned runs and three walks while fanning six.

Ashville 6, Etowah 1
Sparked by Lexi St. John’s three-hit effort, Ashville posted a 6-1 victory over Etowah on Wednesday, March 13 in Attalla. In seven innings, St. John walked three and struck out 10. She did not allow an earned run. She helped her cause by going 2-for-4 with two RBI. Also for the Lady Bulldogs, Ashlynn Layfield went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double, two RBI and a run scored; Ryleigh Cothran went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI; and Brooklyn Mikus went 1-for-2 with a double and two runs scored. Bella Owen, Kylee Wilder and Alyssa Rudolph each had a hit for the Lady Blue Devils (10-6).

Glencoe 8, Pleasant Valley 5
Relief pitcher Summer Crump kept Pleasant Valley off the scoreboard over the final three innings to help Glencoe post an 8-5 victory on Tuesday, March 12. In four innings, Crump allowed three hits, one run and one walk while striking out three. She helped her cause by going 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Also for the Lady Yellow Jackets (6-11), Abby Bunt went 3-for-4 with a home run, two RBI and a run scored; Aubrey Maxwell went 3-for-4 with a double, two RBI and a run scored; and Sadie Waldrop went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored.

Hokes Bluff 4, Gadsden City 3
Trailing 3-0 early on, Hokes Bluff scored the final four runs of the game for a 4-3 win over Gadsden City on Tuesday, March 12. Abby Payne’s score off Sophia Jackson’s RBI base hit held up as the winning score. In seven innings, winning pitcher Lacey hall scattered five hits, two earned runs and three walks with eight strikeouts. She helped her cause by going 2-for-4. Jackson had a hit, two RBI and a run scored.

West End 8, Holly Pond 0
Braylee King’s complete-game five-hitter sparked West End to an 8-0 win over Holly Pond on Tuesday, March 12. In seven innings, King did not issue a walk and struck out two. She helped her cause with a hit and two runs scored. Also for the Lady Patriots, Emma Finch went 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBI and a run scored; Daleigha Wheeler went 2-for-4 with a triple, an RBI and two runs scored; Libby Falkner had an RBI double and a run scored; and Jada Wright had a two-run single.

Sardis 10, Oneonta 8
Sardis outlasted Oneonta, on Tuesday, March 12 in Sardis City. Jalyn Hannah’s two-run double in the top of the sixth inning held up as the winning run, with Vada Wilmore’s RBI single later in the inning providing some in insurance. Relief pitcher Maddy Harris retired the Lady Indians in order the top of the seventh to secure the win. Hannah ended up going 3-for-3 with three doubles and four RBI. Also for Sardis, Hallie Haynes went 2-for-3 with a home run, a double, four RBI and two runs scored; Wilmore went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI; and Harris had an RBI double.

Sardis 2, Fort Payne 0
Sardis’ Hallie Haynes wound up on the winning end of a pitchers dual on Monday, March 11, as her three-hitter in seven innings propelled the Lady Lions to a 2-0 victory over Fort Payne in Sardis City. In seven innings, Haynes allowed three hits and two walks while striking out four. She allowed only five baserunners while retiring the side in order three times. Haynes received all the support she needed on the top of the first inning when Annah Kate Waldrep singled and scored on an error. The Lady Lions got some insurance on in the bottom of the sixth on Jaeda Epperson’s RBI triple. Ava Knight went 2-for-3, while Bailey Lush had a hit, an RBI and a run scored.
