The Etowah County Young American Bowling Association recently competed in The 2014 Pepsi USBC Youth Championship and The USBA Alabama State 8th Annual Alabama Youth Bowling Championship.
In attendance at an awards banquet on June 14 in Prattville were Sarah Oden, Matthew McClendon, Kylee Whitt, Breanna Nixson and Jessica Clontz.
The association meets at Paradise Lanes in Rainbow City from September through March of each year.
In the USBA Alabama State 8th Annual Youth Bowling Championship team event 0 – 374 Division, the Nuclear Strikes team of Sarah Oden, Matthew McClendon, Kylee Whitt and Breanna Nixon took first place with a scratch score of 1307. Nuclear Strikes also took first place in the handicap scoring at 2,669.
In Girls Bumper Singles, Bella Perkins took first place with a handicap score of 405.
In Girls Single 0 – 99 Average, Kylee Whitt took first place with a handicap score of 722.
In Girls All Events 0 – 99 Average, Ashlee Hull took first place with a scratch score of 1130; Kylee Whitt took third place with a handicap score of 2110; and Ashlee Hull took fourth place with a handicap score of 2048.
In Girls Single 100-119 Average, Lessie Couch took first place in scratch score with 453 and first place in handicap score with 726. Jessica Clontz took second place with a handicap score of 718.
In Girls All Events 100 – 119 Average, Bethany Corriveau took first place with a scratch score of 1311 and third place with a handicap score of 2040.
In Girls All Events 140 and Over Average, Emily Thomas took first place with a scratch score of 1632 and Rachel Elkins took third place with a handicap score of 1920.
In Boys Single 101 -139 Average, Colton Gibbs took third place with a scratch score of 736 and sixth place with a handicap score of 2062.
In Boys All Events 140 – 174 Average, Kevin Gibbs took fourth place with a handicap score of 2003.
In the 2014 Pepsi USBC Youth Championship: Sectional Competition, in Girls U10 Keilsy Hull took first place; in Girls U10 Julie Gajda took sixth place; In Girls U12, Shy’ere Gibbs took second place, Grace Ann Clontz took fourth place, Ashlee Hull took fifth place and Jessica Clontz took sixth place; In Girls U15, Alexiea Gibbs took second place and Bethany Corriveau took fourth place; In Girls U20, Hannah Brown took first place, Emily Thomas took second place, Taylor Hill took third place and Monica Armendariz took fifth place; in Boys U10, Tristan Bullington took second place; In Boys U12, Matthew McClendon took sixth place; and in Boys U15, Kevin Gibbs took fifth place.
In the 2014 Alabama State Pepsi USBC Youth Championship, In Girls U12, Shy’re Gibbs and Grace Ann Clontz took fourth and fifth place, respectively.
In Girls U15, Bethany Corriveau took fourth place.
In Girls U20, Emily Thomas and Taylor Hill took fourth and fifth place, respectively.
In Boys U15, Matthew Taylor took sixth place.
