Panda Express to open soon

A new restaurant is coming to town. Panda Express is set to open on December 27.

Panda Express is a national food chain that serves popular Chinese food favorites fast.

Some of the chain’s popular dishes include honey walnut shrimp and orange chicken. The chain also offers basic Chinese staples like fried rice, egg rolls, spring rolls, potstickers and chow mein.

Panda Express was started in California by Andrew Cherng, who moved to the United States from the Yangzhou region of China. Now the chain is operating in 47  states and has over 1600  stores. Since the store is not franchised, Gadsden was chosen as a location by the national chain itself.

Panda Express also strives to give back to the community through its organization Panda Cares. Panda Cares has raised more than $28.8 million for charities and causes internationally, as well as in the United States.

The new Panda Express is located at the River Trace Shopping Center in East Gadsden, where several other stores have opened recently, including ULTA Beauty and Moe’s Southwest Grill.
