Marquis Posey rushed for 114 yards on 21 carries and scored two touchdowns as Pell City downed Southside, 35-21, in a Class 6A, Region 7 contest last Friday (Sept. 9) in Pell City.
For the Panthers (3-1, 0-1), Kenneth Bothwell rushed for 93 yards and one touchdown on 18 carries. Triston Shaw and Bo McConnell also scored a touchdown for Southside
The Panthers have an open date this week before hosting Fairley (Tenn.) on Sept. 23.

Conquerors fall to Ragland

Coosa Christian fell to 1-2 on the season with a 62-33 loss to Ragland in Class 1A, Region 6 action last Friday (Sept. 9) at RHS.
For the Conquerors, Dartavious Britton rushed for two touchdowns. Jace Mills threw a pair of touchdowns to Caden Davidson, one for 13 yards and the other for 12. Mills also returned a fumble 15 yards for a touchdown.
The Purple Devils out-gained Coosa 358 to 251 in total yardage.
Britton carried 13 times for 128 yards.
Mills was 5-for-12 in passing for 85 yards, while Caiden Lipscomb completed 4 of 11 passes for 46 yards.
Davidson had four receptions for 94 yards, while Britton caught three passes for 13 yards.
Jackson Justus and Josh Burger each had six tackles.
The Conquerors continue region play this Friday (Sept. 16) at home against Jacksonville Christian.

Eagles can’t hold off Jacksonville

Hokes Bluff came up just short to Class 4A, Region 5 rival Jacksonville last Friday (Sept. 9), 31-27 at HBHS.
The Eagles (0-3, 0-2) had a 27-24 lead with 3:45 left in the game, but the Golden Eagles’ Taye Ackles caught a 48-yard touchdown pass with 1:34 left to play.
Landon Johnson rushed for three touchdowns for Hokes Bluff, while Fisher Simmons ran for another.
The Eagles travel to White Plains this Friday (Sept. 16) in more region action.
Fyffe hangs 50 on Westbrook

Dilan Kilpatrick found the end zone three times to help propel Fyffe to a 50-9 victory over Class 2A, Region 6 opponent Westbrook Christian last Friday (Sept. 9) in Rainbow City.
The Warriors (0-3, 0-2) scored their only touchdown when quarterback Tyler Comeau found Garret Kennedy for a 36-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter. Declan Godfrey kicked a 29-yard field goal with nine minutes left in the first half.
Westbrook travels to Section this week.
