Special Olympics teams honor seniors

Gadsden City High School Titans Special Olympics basketball and cheer teams celebrated the seniors last week. The honored students were Albert Hall, Williams Stewart, Zack Moon, Cameron Banks, Ernestina Martinez and Joshua Maddox.

Albert Hall

Albert Hall

Albert Hall has participated in Special Olympics basketball for six years. He has also been on the Special Olympics swim team for six years, increasing in skills and distance each year and winning gold and silver medals at the state games each year. Albert participates in the track and field games each year for the Etowah County Special Olympics. He has been a participant in the Beautiful Rainbow Café for 5 years. After graduation, Albert will be a part of the Project Search Program offered to graduating seniors to help them find employment.

 

William Stewart

William Stewart

William Stewart has participated in Special Olympics basketball for five years. He has also been on the Special Olympics swim team for five years, increasing in skills and distance each year and winning gold and silver medals at the state games each year. William participates in the track and field games each year for the Etowah County Special Olympics. He has been a participant in the Beautiful Rainbow Café for 4 years. After graduation, William will be a part of the Project Search Program offered to graduating seniors to help them find employment.

 

Zack Moon

Zack Moon

Zack Moon has participated in Special Olympics basketball for six years. He has also been on the Special Olympics swim team for six years, increasing in skills and distance each year and winning gold and silver medals at the state games each year. Zack participates in the track and field games each year for the Etowah County Special Olympics. He has been a participant in the Beautiful Rainbow Café for 5 years. After graduation, Zack will be a part of the Project Search Program offered to graduating seniors to help them find employment. Zack will carry the torch in for the Etowah County Special Olympics Games on April 23.

 

Cameron Banks

Cameron Banks

Cameron Banks has participated in Special Olympics basketball for four years. He also participates in the track and field games each year for the Etowah County Special Olympics. After graduation, Cameron can choose to come back to school for more assistance in transition skills until age 21 or stay at home and look for employment on his own.

 

 

 

Ernestina Martinez

Ernestina Martinez

Ernestina Martinez has been a member of the cheerleading squad for three years. She has also been part of the swim program for learning how to swim for four years. After graduation, she will be at home with family and possibly enrolled in an adult school program if available.

 

 

 

Joshua Maddox

Joshua Maddox

Joshua Maddox has been a member of the cheerleading squad for three years. He has also been part of the swim program for learning how to swim for two years. After graduation, he will be at home with family and possibly enrolled in an adult school program if available.
