One of the most memorable events for a family is family reunion. Family members and friends get together to reminiscence about the past, present and future.

During the weekend of Aug.15, the Price-Wright-Green family traveled to Washington D.C. in celebration of their 68 years of the family getting together.

Some of the family members in the Alabama and Georgia areas – Gadsden, Centre and Rome – are the descendants of Theodore Tiller, Frank and Annie Lou Price, Jess and Margaret Wright, Mark and Glennie Wright, and Ross Wright and Ham and Lillian Green.

The-Price-Wright-Green family reunion began as a birthday party for grandmother Susie Hightower in Hollow Cross Road in Centre. On Aug. 14, a bus filled with family left Georgia and traveled to Alabama and Tennessee, picking up family along the way to enjoy a weekend filled with games, food and a historical tour of the Washington D.C. area.

This year the tour included the Black American Civil War Museum, the Martin Luther King Monument and other historical monuments.

The annual picnic was held at the Bolling Air Force Base.

Other activities included the game “Family Feud,” with the ladies winning three out of four rounds, and a masquerade ball.

The Price-Wright-Green family has experienced a rich history. The family crest is designed with three rings with the letters PWG intertwined. The family theme is “People With Goals.” Each year, the family ends its time together with worship and praise. The theme song of the family is “The More We Get Together the Happier We’ll Be.”

Each generation brings newness to the family with scholastic achievements, new births and old memories. The Price-Wright-Green family knows that a family that prays together stays together!
