West End defeated Asbury and Coosa Christian on Feb. 25 in a round-robin tournament at Walnut Grove. The Lady Patriots beat Asbury, 10-0, in the first game and Coosa, 14-0, in the second game.

Morgan Cleveland and Courtney Oliver combined for a no-hitter against Asbury. Cleveland pitched four innings against the Lady Rams, tallying seven strikeouts and two walks. Oliver closed the game for the Lady Pats, earning three strikeouts in one inning with a lethal sinkerball.

Haley Fulenwider, Tawny Boles and Taylor Nichols each belted home runs for the Lady Pats against Asbury. Nichols and Boles each blasted solo shots in the third and fourth innings, respectively. Fulenwider’s walk-off, two-run shot to left-centerfield came in the fifth inning.

West End whipped Coosa Christian in the second match, 14-0.  Oliver was a virtual wrecking crew against the Lady Conquerors. The sophomore batted for the cycle and pitched a one-hit shutout for the Lady Patriots.

Fulenwider, Boles, catcher Joni Goss and Dannah Browning each slapped a pair of hits against Coosa.
