The Guntersville Wildcats seized control of their destiny in the Class 4A, Region 6 playoff race by defeated unbeaten and 10th-ranked Sardis 35-13 Friday (Oct. 4).

The host Wildcats improved to 5-1 overall and 3-1 in the region standings by winning their fourth consecutive game. Sardis dropped to 5-1 and 3-1.

Friday was homecoming night for the North Sand Mountain Bison, and the visiting West End Patriots proved no match for home team in a Class 2A Region 7 matchup.
