Attalla Heritage Day slated for Oct. 19

    The City of Attalla will continue to celebrate its history with Attalla Heritage Day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Oct. 19.
    Downtown Attalla will be teaming with food and craft vendors, entertainers will be performing on three stages, a children’s area, a new Teen Scene area, a car show and all Attalla’s downtown merchants

Women’s Conference set for Oct. 18-19

 Tickets are on sale now for the third annual Hokes Bluff Women’s Conference on Oct. 18-19 at Union 3 Baptist Church, 8765 Centre Road, Gadsden.
    The conference features Krista Black, Cassie Duncan Shields and Natalie Reed.

Floyd installed as Civitans’ president

 Jack Floyd was installed as president of the Gadsden Civitan Club last month by District Governor Pat Jex McKemy.
    Floyd has been a civitan for 60 years, serving as district Governor in 1958-59. He also served as president of the Alabama City Civitan Club.
    Floyd’s father George was a long-time civitan, serving as president of the Alabama City Civitan Club.
  

Plans are underway for 2013 Christmas parade

 It’s already time to begin planning for the Annual Christmas Parade.
    The Kiwanis Club of Gadsden is the sponsor and we are looking forward to another great parade. In order to make this a success, the Kiwanis would like to have you and/or your group to participate in this parade.

 Gates open at 2 p.m. on Oct. 12 for the City of Gadsden Parks and Recreation Department’s annual Halloween Super Bash a@Noccalula.
    Admission is $5, Janet Tarrance of Parks and Recreation said, and includes all games, train rides, the petting zoo, inflatables, bouncys and activities. Children under three get in free. Vendors will be on site offering food and more.
