At a signing ceremony in the SHS auditorium on April 13, three players signed with Southern Union Community College in Wadley – Hunter Ashcraft and Morgan Hollaway for softball and Walt Austin for baseball.

Lady Blue Devils finish second at Gadsden Umpire Tournament

The Etowah High softball team finished runner-up at the Gadsden Umpires Tournament last weekend at the Gadsden Sports Complex.
The Class 5A No. 9 Lady Blue Devils (28-10-1) lost to Class 6A No. 5 Pell City, 14-3, in the championship game.

The Alabama Credit Union Association (ACUA), an affiliate of the League of Southeastern Credit Unions & Affiliates (LSCU), recently named Alabama House Minority Leader Craig Ford (D-Gadsden) as the 2015 ACUA Lawmaker of the Year.
