Westbrook Christian track results

The Westbrook Christian boys and girls track & field teams finished fifth and seventh, respectively, at the Class 2A, Section 3 meet on Apr. 27-28 in Falkville.

The Warriors posted three runner-up showings – Brien Welch in the 200-meter dash at 24.33 seconds, Devernon Marshall in the 400-meter dash at 54.91 seconds and the 4×400-meter relay team of Jesse Battles, Devernon Marshall, Brien Welch and Frederick Washington at 3:47.51.

Westbrook’s 4×100-meter relay team took third place with time of 47.98 seconds.

Also earning points for the Warriors was the 4th place 4×800-meter relay team of Jesse Battles, Michael Harris, Johnny Maurer and Will Clokey; Brien Welch (5th in the 100-meter dash), Devernon Marshall (6th in the 100-meter dash), Jackson Ellison (6th in the 300-mtere hurdles) and Will Clokey (8th in the 3200-meter run).

Lorien Welch had a big weekend for the Lady Warriors, producing first-place showings in the 100-meter dash (13.34 seconds) and the 200-meter dash (27.98 seconds) and a second-place finish in the long jump with a 14-foot, 10-inch leap.

Also posting a runner-up finish was the Lady Warriors’ 4×400-meter relay team with a time of 56.76 seconds.
