The Gadsden Pilot Club received a proclamation from City of Gadsden Mayor Sherman Guyton during the Gadsden City Council meeting on October 18 commending the club’s 86 years of service to the Gadsden/Etowah community and Pilot International’s 101st anniversary.

The Pilot Club raises money and awareness for Brain Minders, a program that educates elementary school students on head injury prevention, and Project Lifesaver, a public safety program that provides tracking bracelets to caretakers of individuals prone to wandering due to conditions like Alzheimer’s. The club recently made a $2,000 donation to the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office for the Etowah Project Lifesaver program in conjunction with the local Anchor Club.
