Coosa Christian defense caused six turnovers that led to 14 points in a 43-14 win over Victory Christian on October 28 in Gadsden.
The Conquerors (6-4), who finished the regular season with their first winning record since 2018, host Hackleburg in the first round of the Class 1A state playoffs this Friday (Nov. 4).
The Coosa starting defense did not give up a point while playing two and one-half quarters.
For the Conquerors, Jacoby Tucker returned a punt return for a touchdown, while Eli Motes returned an interception for a score.
Jai Mostella (pictured above) rushed for 153 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries.
John David Justice was 2 for 4 in passing for 46 yards and two touchdowns. Jacoby Tucker had three receptions for 60 yards.
Clete O’Bryant led the way defensively with 14 tackles, including four for a loss. He also forced a fumble and intercepted a pass.
Drake Albury had 10 tackles, followed by Motes with seven and Dalton Hyatt with five. Matthew Wright, Drake Dupree and E. Roden each recovered a fumble.
