Gadsden City Schools and the City of Gadsden partnered together at The Venue at Coosa Landing Tuesday, August 29, to host a night of literacy promotion among school officials, students and parents. The Elementary Literacy Parent Night was a chance for school leaders to engage students and parents in an effort to teach why reading is important and fundamental to success.
Outgoing Gadsden City Schools Superintendent Tony Reddick spoke during the event and thanked the staff at the central office and the schools around Gadsden. Gadsden Councilman Kent Back spoke on behalf of the
Gadsden City Council and thanked the parents in attendance for their dedication to their children.
Cheerleaders welcomed parents and children into the building with cheers and chants, while the Gadsden City High School mascot high-fived those who passed by. The Gadsden City Marching Titans also performed before the presentations began.
