GSCC student selected for leadership program

Gadsden State student Clarissa Williams of Henegar has been selected to be a part of the American Society of the Radiologic Technologists Student to Leadership Development Program. The three-year program offers students a chance to attend educational sessions and to network with medical imaging and radiation therapy professionals.

Williams is a second-year radiography student at Gadsden State Community College. She was selected for ASRT SLDP after a nationwide application process. She is one of two students selected from Alabama. She will receive airfare, housing and a stipend for meals and other expenses for a trip to Orlando in June to attend the ASRT House of Delegates meeting.

The mission of ASRT is to advance and elevate the medical imaging and radiation therapy profession and to enhance the quality and safety of patient care. In addition, the ASRT strives to maintain high standards of education and to further the welfare and socioeconomics of radiologic technologists. The Alabama Society of Radiologic Technologists is an affiliate of ASRT.
