Gary Kennedy Sr.

June 13, 1936 – July 28, 2025

Gary Kennedy Sr , age 89, of Glencoe, passed away on July 28, 2025.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 1, 2025, at Crestwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Crestwood Funeral Home.

Gary will be remembered as a hardworking family man whose life was marked by dedication and kindness. Early in his career, he became known as “the beer man” while serving as area supervisor for a local beer distributor. Over the years, he owned and partnered in several businesses, always striving to provide for his family and support his community.

He had a deep love for Alabama football, a passion for gardening, and cherished traveling adventures with his beloved wife, Pat. Above all, Gary was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His love for his family was unwavering, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Pallbearers will be Bryant Kennedy, Jay Hardin, Dylan Stone, Colton Stone, Dalton Reid  and Shane Reid.,

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Pat Kennedy, and his parents, Willard and Jimmie Mae Kennedy and brother Bill Kennedy

Gary is survived by his children: Gary Kennedy Jr., Mitch (LeAnn) Kennedy, Sonya (Daryl) Howard, and Amy (Jason) Gilley; grandchildren: Bryant (Wesleigh) Kennedy, Jay Hardin, Dylan (Kelsey) Stone, and Colton Stone; great-grandchildren: Landon, Raileigh, Marleigh, Skyler, Delilah, and James; brothers: Clark Kennedy and Boykin Kennedy; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

The family extends a heartfelt thank you to Enhabit Hospice, Dr. Scarbrough, Golden Years In-Home Care, and the entire Glen Oaks community for their compassionate care and support.
