Lee Ozmint said that every week is a big week, and that his athletes aren’t always looking at that week.

“(Last week) we weren’t looking ahead – we weren’t looking,” the Glencoe High football coach said. “We’ve got to concentrate on the job at hand and it was evident that we weren’t last week, and that’s my fault. We can give a lot better effort than what we did last week. I hope we don’t resemble the same team as last week.”

Ozmint did say that his team is practicing a lot better this week.

“They’ve responded well,” he said. “They seem to be focused on what’s in front of us.”

What’s in front is seemingly a runaway freight train called Piedmont. The second-ranked and Class 3A, region 5 rival Bulldogs have outscored their first two opponents by 112-13 margin.

“They have a great program and a great team,” Ozmint said. “They run great player after great player out there and one is as fast and good as the one before. They always seem to have great running backs on the field and on the sideline.”

Last week against Weaver, Thomas Ozmint rushed 17 times for 72 yards. He also had two catches for 14 yards.

Dylan Stone completed 5-of-19 passes for 38 yards.

Pace Ozmint led in tackles with 12, while Mason Brown had nine.
