Still seeking the first win of the season, Hokes Bluff High’s football team heads to Anniston to play a team that the Eagles should’ve beaten last year.

Hokes Bluff had the ball in the red zone with five seconds left and couldn’t finish.

“It was frustrating for everyone,” Eagles coach Mike Robertson said. “Hopefully we can do better this year.”

Hokes Bluff is also pretty well banged up, but Robertson conceded that most teams are in that situation by this time of the season.

“The kids still have good attitudes,” he said. “But we’ve got to do a better job of tackling. That’s been a problem this season.”

Anniston comes in with a very talented team that Robertson said is “well coached and playing very well.”

Cam Dowdy scored a touchdown last week against Munford.
