Sardis High and Fairview will meet in a game that could have a nickname if it were on television.

With footballs sailing hither and yon, look for a lot of passing yards on both sides.

“They run a lot of the same stuff we do,” Sardis coach Gene Hill said. “Our scout team knew what to run all week in practice.”

Fairview started out the season with a new quarterback and didn’t look too great. But as time has gone on, the Aggies have shown a lot of improvement.

“They’ve improved more each week than any team I’ve seen,” Hill said. “They’ve shown improvement each game.

“Plus, we’ve got to go there. It’s a tough place to win at.”

The Lions currently are it fourth place in the Class 4A, Region 6 standings, with Fairview two games behind.

Last week against St. Clair County, Keenan Lewis had 266 all-purpose yards – 16 carries for 102 yards and a score; 152 yards in kickoff returns and two more touchdowns; and caught one pass for 12 yards and one score.

Scott completed 10-of-27 passes for 100 yards and a touchdown. Brett Rains caught six passes for 65 yards.
