Alabama Farm Credit (AFC) recently celebrated the grand opening of its latest branch. This new office, marking the sixth branch for Alabama Farm Credit, had the ribbon cut and officially opened on March 20, 2024. The celebration hosted attendees including AFC members, directors, employees, local officials and Etowah Chamber members.

The new branch will provide a variety of services, including farm, equipment and livestock loans, land financing and home lending — catering to the needs of farmers, ranchers and rural homeowners. The Rainbow City location will provide specialized financial services to the communities within Cherokee, Etowah, eastern Blount and northern Calhoun counties.

According to a press release from AFC, Branch Manager Rusty Alldredge and Customer Service Representative Whitley Self are excited to serve members from their temporary office while the permanent structure is under construction, with anticipated completion in 2026.

Alldredge explained his enthusiasm at the ribbon cutting event.

“I appreciate everyone celebrating the grand opening with us,” Alldredge said. “We are excited to be in Rainbow City and serve this community. I look forward to partnering with the farmers, land buyers and ag colleagues in this area.”

The press release also expressed that the grand opening “underscores AFC’s dedication to fostering relationships with local farmers and enhancing its capability to offer timely and reliable financial solutions to the agricultural industry.”

“AFC prides itself in being part of the Farm Credit System, which ensures stability and reliability to members for over 100 years,” the press release stated.

The grand opening event also kicked off a 30-day canned food drive, supporting the Wills Creek Food Pantry.

“We invite the whole community to join in the food drive and bring by some canned and non-perishable food items over the next 30 days,” Alldredge said. “We hope this will feed many people and families in need.”

The Rainbow City branch office is open for business Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For more information about Alabama Farm Credit and the services offered, please visit AlabamaFarmCredit.com.
