Betty Morgan Elliott

Betty Morgan Elliott of Gadsden, passed away peacefully on Nov. 16, just short of her 100th birthday. She was born on Dec. 4, 1925, in Des Moines, Iowa. Betty married Harold Morgan, and she moved with him to Gadsden where they raised three children: Gary, Cindy and Jeff. After Harold’s sudden passing, Betty later found love again and married Robert Elliott of Nashville Tennessee. Together they welcomed their child, Bridget. Betty was a self-taught organist and painter. She had a special fondness for dachshunds, who were a beloved presence in her home over the years.

Betty is survived by her children Gary Morgan, Cindy (Jeff) Archer, and Bridget (Ricky) Cushing. She has four grandchildren Amy (Shane) Mcgee, Hayley (Patrick) Cooper, Katie Cushing and Sam Cushing. Betty also has five great grandchildren, Logan Mcgee, Morgan Ledbetter (Gage), Lyla Weaver, Phoenix Cooper and Skyler Clonts (Zack) and her best friend for over 50 years, Ann Lowrey. Betty had a team of special friends who helped her during her end of life: Robin Diggs, Beth Kerr and Renithia Cleveland.

Betty’s family will be forever grateful for the love and compassion that you showed her and the comfort that you have given the family over the last several months.

Betty is reunited in peace with her son Jeff, who passed when he was a young boy and other loved ones that passed before her, including her late husband, Bob.
