Gadsden State freshman outside hitter Summer Hinton was named the Alabama Community College Conference Volleyball Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 28-Oct. 4.
The Addison native led the Lady Cardinals to a 3-0 week with wins over Southern Union, Wallace-Selma and Jefferson Davis. For the week, Hinton accumulated 32 kills, 48 digs, 10 service aces, three blocks and one assist.
Hinton currently ranks third in the ACCC in kills per set at 3.46, fifth in kills at 180, fourth in digs per set at 4.77 and fifth in total digs at 248.
Gadsden State currently is 11-10 overall and 5-2 in the ACCC.
