The Genealogy Branch of the GPL located at 2700 West Meighan Boulevard will host Crochet and Knitting Club from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Fellowship and share knowledge with other knitters and crocheters. Participants are asked to bring their own supplies. For additional information, call 256-549-4688.

Noccalula Falls Park will host Wild about Herptiles from 12 – 4 p.m. at the petting zoo. Join Noccalula Falls staff for conversations and education at its animal habitat.

The Gadsden Public Library will host GPL Chessmasters from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the fiction department. Chessboards and pieces may be requested for in-house use at the circulation desk. July 10
The Gadsden Public Library will host GPL & OLLI Sports Club at 10 a.m. in the computer classroom. Enjoy a lively discussion about football, basketball, baseball and just about every other sport known to man.

Mental Health America of Etowah County will host Stress and Anger Management and Domestic Violence Prevention classes at the Gadsden Public Library. Stress and Anger Management will be held at 12 p.m. in the computer classroom and at 6 p.m. in the Lena Martin Room. Domestic Violence Prevention will be held at 1 p.m. in the computer classroom and at 5 p.m. in the Lena Martin Room.

The East Gadsden Branch of GPL will hold a Virtual Civil Legal Advice Clinic from 2 to 4 p.m. Ask civil legal questions from a volunteer attorney with efforts being made to match individuals who need further assistance with an attorney willing to do pro bono work. Noccalula Falls Park presents Little Animals Big World conversations and education at its animal habitat from 12 – 4 p.m.

Parks & Rec Celebration Day Surfing U.S.A. at 10 a.m. at the Coosa Boardwalk Splash Pad. Visitors can enjoy water slides, obstacle courses, water gun wars, food trucks, games, music and dancing.

August 9
Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) will have their Smarter Seniors workshop in the Etowah County Courthouse Community Meeting Room #205 at 10 a.m. The topic of this workshop is “Exercising to Stay Active”. The speaker will be Aaron Gilbreath from 365 Fitness. This is a free workshop geared towards senior citizens, but anyone may attend. Space is limited call RSVP at 256-549-8147 by August 4 to reserve a spot.
