E.S. Museum recieves check for historical marker in park

The Emma Sansom High School Class of 1974 has always been a winning class.

A check was presented to the Emma Sansom Museum Inc. for the amount of $1189.49 for the E.S. Project.

When the original Emma Sansom gym was torn down, the “E” and “S” located in the top corners of the building were donated the E.S. Museum Inc. The museum group had plans to have these placed at Reagan Park with the history of the school carved in a historical marker.

The cost of the project is approximately $15,000. The Class of ’74 also donated 35 Emma Sansom High School lapel pins with the rights to the design to be used to raise funds.

A “Rebel Spirit” challenge has been issued from the Class of ’74 to all classes to donate to this project.

Donations may be made to Emma Sansom High School Museum, Inc. and mailed to Martha Nix Brackett at 2316 Powell Street, Southside, AL 35907.
