On Friday, July 2, Downtown Gadsden will ring in the holiday weekend with First Friday. Local residents and visitors will be welcome to Broad Street and beyond in Downtown Gadsden for an evening of dining, shopping, enjoying classic cars and live music, as well as socializing with friends and family.

Broad Street will be closed to automobile traffic at 4 p.m. to allow classic cars, live music and food vendors to setup. The event will kick off at 6 p.m. and end at 9 p.m. Entertainment will include Southern FX at 2nd and Broad, Kevin Moore at 3rd and Broad, DieDra the Blues Diva at 4th and Broad and Ed Howard Band at 5th and Broad.

“Our return to First Friday last month was a wonderful success for Downtown Gadsden,” said Kay Moore, DGI director. “People are ready to get back to favorite events, and we’re happy to welcome them and encourage them to support our downtown businesses.”

Following First Friday, the Summer Concert Series at the Amphitheater heats up with All My Rowdy Friends, a Hank Williams Jr. tribute. Both events are free to attend.

The guidelines for First Friday include no pets, no personal coolers or glass containers, no skateboards or roller blades and no advertising or fundraising. For additional information, please visit downtowngadsden.com.
