Gadsden City schools name Teachers of Year

    The Gadsden City Board of Education recognized 12 teachers at the April 2 board meeting, after they were selected by their colleagues as the top teachers for 2013 in their respectives schools.
    “We’re proud of all our teachers,” Don Campbell, of the Gadsden School system said. He said the system’s teachers are very dedicated to teaching and to their students.
    Superintendent Dr. Ed Miller said the meeting, in which dozens of students were recognized for their accomplishments as well, was the kind of meeting board members enjoy.
    A teacher was selected from each of the systems schools, and a system wide teacher elementary school and secondary school teacher were honored as well. GCHS teacher Betrina Thomas was honored as secondary school Teacher of the Year, while Striplin Elementary School teacher Meche Morgan was recognized as elementary school Teacher of the Year.
