The Gadsden Fire Department is now accepting donations for its annual Toys from Santa program. The program helps children and families in Gadsden have a jolly Christmas through collection and distribution of donations.

“Please consider supporting this program organized by the men and women of the Gadsden Fire Department,” said Gadsden Mayor Craig Ford. “These professionals often experience some of the darkest moments in peoples’ lives, so I know helping bring joy and relief to children and families is a cherished blessing. Whether it’s one dollar or one toy, your contribution goes farther than you can imagine.”

Individuals or businesses can donate new toys at all Gadsden Fire stations from now until December 15, 2023. Due to sanitary concerns, used toys are not accepted.

Those who wish to donate large quantities of new, unwrapped toys may schedule a pickup time by calling 256-549-4566.

A fundraising roadblock will be held in front of the Gadsden Mall on Friday, Nov. 24.

Monetary donations, which are used to purchase new toys for distribution, can also be made at the Central Fire Station, 322 Walnut St., Gadsden.
