Glencoe pastes Pleasant Valley

Glencoe closed out Class 3A, Region 6 play with a 48-8 thrashing of Pleasant Valley on Friday.

The visiting Yellow Jackets (8-1, 6-1) rolled up 521 total yards – including 452 on the ground – while limiting the Red Raiders to 102.

Pace Ozmint scored four touchdowns for Glencoe, three rushing and one receiving. He finished with 144 rushing yards on 14 attempts.

Glencoe built a 14-0 first quarter lead on Chase Wilson’s 60-yard TD pass to Ozmint at 9:49 and Taylor Daugherty’s 3-yard touchdown run at 2:11.

In the second period, Ozmint scored at 9:38 from 18 yards out and at 2:59 from 14 yards away to give the Yellow Jackets a 27-0 halftime lead.

Glencoe extended its lead to 34-0 at the 7:30 mark of the third quarter on Ozmint’s 6-yard scoring run.

Aaron Bush’s 13-yard touchdown run 11 seconds into the fourth quarter made it 41-0. The Jackets closed out the scoring on Micah Sizemore’s 6-yard TD run with 2:06 remaining in the game.

Austin Bush ran for 110 yards on 10 carries, while Daugherty had 66 yard on 10 attempts. Aaron Bush gained 55 yard on three carries.

Wilson completed 2-of-8 passes for 69 yards. 
Eli Baskins led Glencoe in tackles with seven, followed by Zack Cowley with six. Cowley and Noah Hauk each had a sack.

The Yellow Jackets close out the regular season this Friday (Oct. 30) at Cleburne County.
