Glencoe, West End, Hokes Bluff, Sardis come up short at softball regionals

Glencoe High came one game shy of a berth in the state softball tournament, falling to No. 2 Oakman, 1-0, in the finals of the playback bracket in the Class 3A North Regional Tournament in Tuscaloosa.

After opening with a 4-2 loss to Oakman, the Lady Yellow Jackets rebounded with three straight wins: 9-2 over Holly Pond, 9-5 over Walter Wellborn and 6-3 over Piedmont before losing by a run to Oakman. 

West End went 1-2 at the Class 2A North Central Regional Softball Tournament last weekend in Tuscaloosa. The Lady Patriots opened with a 6-5 loss to Randolph County, defeated Southeastern, 15-1, and lost to Gaston, 13-1. 

Both Hokes Bluff and Sardis went 0-2 at the Class 4A North Central Regional Softball Tournament last weekend in Tuscaloosa. The Lady Eagles Lost to Oneonta, 15-0, and Cleburne County, 11-5. The Lady Lions lost to J.B. Pennington, 4-2, and White Plains, 15-0.
