Auburn Week 4 recap
The Tigers lost their first game of the season last Saturday to LSU, 35-21. Auburn fell to 3-1 overall and 1-1 in SEC play. LSU jumped out to a 21-0 lead early in the first half and Auburn never recovered. LSU running back Jeremy Hill carried the ball 25 times for 183 yards and three touchdowns. Auburn quarterback Nick Marshall threw for over 200 yards but also threw two interceptions. AU running back Tre Mason scored two touchdowns on the night, and he also ran for 132 yards. Auburn has the week off before Ole Miss visits on October 5.
Alabama Week 4 recap
The Crimson Tide defeated Colorado State, 31-6, last weekend in Tuscaloosa. Alabama struggled to find any consistency offensively and managed only 66 rushing yards on the night. Quarterback A.J. McCarron threw for over 250 yards and a touchdown. The Crimson Tide improved to 3-0 overall with the win. Alabama faces Ole Miss this Saturday in Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Week 5 Previews and Predictions

Game of the Week
LSU at Georgia (-3). LSU travels to Athens to take on the Georgia Bulldogs. LSU has been dominant thus far but this will be the Tigers’ first road game this season. The Bulldogs already have played two marquee games this season. Georgia lost its season opener to Clemson but rebounded with a home win over South Carolina. The winner of this game puts itself in great position for a run at the national championship. Prediction: LSU 27, Georgia 24.
South Carolina at Central Florida (+7). The Gamecocks travel to Orlando to take on a dangerous Central Florida team this weekend. UCF defeated Penn State last weekend, and the Golden Knights are capable of knocking off South Carolina if the Gamecocks are not ready to play. Expect Steve Spurrier’s team to squeeze out a victory on Saturday. Prediction: South Carolina 31, Central Florida 20.
South Alabama at Tennessee (-20). The Volunteers were dominated in back-to-back weeks against Oregon and Florida but return home this weekend to take on the Jaguars from Mobile. Tennessee has a rough stretch of games ahead but they should easily defeat USA. Prediction: Tennessee 45, South Alabama 17.
Ole Miss at Alabama (-16). In one of the weekend’s most highly anticipated games, the undefeated Rebels visit the nation’s top-ranked team. Alabama has not lost to Ole Miss since 2003, although this particular Ole Miss team has one of the best offenses in the SEC. Led by quarterback Bo Wallace, the Rebels already have won at Vanderbilt and Te-xas, scoring 39 and 43 points, respectively. Alabama’s defense has been shaky at times this season, so Ole Miss should be able to score. Alabama already won a shootout versus Texas A&M, however, and the Crimson Tide are certainly capable of outscoring the Rebels on Saturday. Prediction: Alabama 38, Ole Miss 20.
Texas A&M at Arkansas (+3). Arkansas lost a tough road game at Rutgers last weekend, while Texas A&M easily handled SMU. The Aggie offense is one of the best in the nation, and the Razorbacks do not have the personnel defensively to stop them. Look for Johnny Manziel and the Aggies to have a field day with the Hog defense. Prediction: Texas A&M 52, Arkansas 27.
Florida at Kentucky (+13). The Gators defeated rival Tennessee last weekend but lost quarterback Jeff Driskel for the season when he broke his leg early in the game. However, it should not matter who is playing quarterback for Will Muschamp’s team this weekend in Lexington. The Wildcats are still rebuilding and will struggle to score on the Gator defense. Prediction: Florida 27, Kentucky 13.
Arkansas State at Missouri (-21). Gary Pinkel and the Missouri Tigers picked up a huge road win last week over Indiana. This week, the Tigers face an Arkansas State team that recently lost to Memphis. With a win over the Red Wolves, Missouri would be 4-0 entering next weekend’s game at Vanderbilt. Prediction: Missouri 48, Arkansas State 17.
UAB at Vanderbilt (-20). The Commodores struggled in a win over Massachusetts last week. If it wants to be competitive in the SEC, the Nashville squad must be more consistent offensively. With a big game against Missouri looming, Vanderbilt cannot afford to overlook the Blazers this Saturday in the Music City. Prediction: Vanderbilt 38, UAB 13.
