Auburn Week 7 recap
The Tigers gained over 700 yards of offense as they easily defeated Western Carolina, 62-3, last week. Freshman quarterback Jeremy Johnson, who got the start in place of the injured Nick Marshall, threw for over 200 yards and four touchdowns. Auburn improved to 5-1 overall with the win. The Tigers travel to College Station to take on Texas A&M this Saturday (Oct. 19).
Alabama Week 7 recap
Alabama went on the road and defeated Kentucky, 48-7, last weekend. Quarterback A.J. McCarron threw for a career-high 359 yards, including a touchdown to wide receiver Kevin Norwood. Crimson Tide running backs T.J. Yeldon and Kenyan Drake ran for 230 yards on 30 carries to go along with four touchdowns. The Alabama defense dominated, allowing only 170 total yards. The Crimson Tide improved to 6-0 overall and 3-0 in SEC play. Alabama returns home to play Arkansas this Saturday (Oct. 19).

Game of the Week
Auburn at Texas A&M (-13.5). The Aggies and Tigers meet in College Station on Saturday afternoon for a pivotal SEC West Division showdown. Texas A&M defeated Ole Miss last week behind an incredible fourth quarter performance by quarterback Johnny Manziel. Auburn has turned things around in Gus Malzahn’s first season but the Aggies present a challenge for the Tigers this weekend. The first team to 40 wins. Prediction: Texas A&M 41, Auburn 27.
Georgia at Vanderbilt (+7.5). The Bulldogs lost their first conference game of the season last week at home against Missouri. Georgia has been plagued by injuries all year, and the Tigers took advantage last Saturday. Despite losing to Missouri, the Bulldogs still have a chance to win the SEC East. They will need a lot of help, however, and cannot slip up against a dangerous Vanderbilt team this weekend in Nashville. Prediction: Georgia 41, Vanderbilt 30.
South Carolina at Tennessee (+7.5). With Georgia losing to Missouri last week, the Gamecocks have new life in the SEC East Division race. If South Carolina wins out and Georgia loses another conference game, the Gamecocks will represent the East in Atlanta for the SEC title game. Tennessee nearly upset Georgia two weeks ago, and the Vols are capable of pulling off the upset if South Carolina overlooks them. Prediction: South Carolina 38, Tennessee 20.
Florida at Missouri (+3). Not many people expected Missouri to be the lone undefeated team in the SEC East halfway through the season. The Tigers are 6-0, however, and control their own destiny in the SEC East race. Missouri lost quarterback James Franklin for the next several weeks due to a shoulder injury and are going up against one of the best defenses in the nation. The Gators have already dropped two games this year, so this is a must-win for the Gainesville squad if it wants a chance to reach the conference championship game. Prediction: Florida 23, Missouri 17.
LSU at Ole Miss (+8). After starting the season 3-0, Ole Miss lost three consecutive games. Last week the Rebels fell to Texas A&M, 41-38, after Johnny Manziel led the Aggies down the field for a game-winning field goal. LSU defeated Florida, 17-6, last Saturday, and the Tigers finally put together a dominating defensive performance. LSU are back in the national title picture, so the Bayou Bengals cannot afford to lose any more games. Prediction: LSU 45, Ole Miss 24.
Arkansas at Alabama (-28.5). The Crimson Tide dismantled Kentucky, 48-7, on the road last week and return home to face another team that is winless in league play. Arkansas lost to South Carolina, 52-7, last week, and the Hogs now have lost four straight games. Bret Bielema is still looking for his first SEC victory as Arkansas’s head coach. That’s not going to happen this week. Prediction: Alabama 45, Arkansas 9.
