Kay Moore, director of Downtown Gadsden, Inc. (DGI) presented the Ralph Lane Spirit Award to Jeff Johnson at the DGI Biennial meeting on April 25.

Lane was instrumental in the founding of DGI. After his death in 2016, Moore named an award after him. The award is intended to go to someone that has been a history of volunteering for the DGI program.

This is only the second time the award has been given since its inception.

According to Moore, Johnson has exhibited “a true volunteer spirit, always helping when asked and even looking for ways to make downtown Gadsden more successful.”
