Kids Korner: Switzerland and Italy

By Charlotte Bailey

In March 2023, my family and I went to Italy. Our Momsie came with us too. It was so fun!

Our first stop was Zermatt, where we saw the Matterhorn. It was huge! We also had dinner with some of our friends from home. We rode the train and swam in an indoor pool. The pool was so cool! You could go through this opening in the wall to get outside. It was freezing cold, but the pool was warm. We also went to an ice cave which had pretty sculptures. At our hotel, we had tea! Also, we got to ski with our friends and my sister and I made a snowman. We got to have fondue, too.

Then, we went to Andermatt. There, we got to see more of the Swiss Alps. We went swimming there, too. The next night, it snowed. So, in the morning, me and my sister played on our balcony. We went to a cafe there. It was delicious! There was a blizzard, so we went to a fancy restaurant on the mountain. The food was amazing! It was my first time at a restaurant like that. I really loved the sushi. Next, we went to Lugano. There we went on a boat ride. It was cool to see the landscape. We went to many playgrounds there. They were all fun! We met a little girl named Adele at our hotel and we loved playing with her.

Lastly, we went to Milan, where we saw the Milan Cathedral, called the Duomo, and we got to see the painting of the Last Supper! We went and got delicious gelato there with my Aunt Farrah and Uncle Justin. They came there as a surprise! We went to the galleria where we saw many shops and ate pizza! Our trip to Italy was wonderful.

I hope I’ll go back soon!
