Lady Blue Devils win area softball tournament

Etowah High edged Guntersville, 7-6, in the championship game of the Class 5A, Area 13 Tournament on May 5 in Attalla.

The Lady Blue Devils will compete in the Class 5A North Regional Tournament beginning Thursday (May 12) against Ardmore in Huntsville.

For Etowah in the title game, Emma Jones had a double, two hits and two RBI; Madison Grant had a double and an RBI; Taylor Bush had a hit, an RBI and two runs scored; Aimee Fancher had a hit and a run scored; Melissa Love had a hit and an RBI; and Krislyn Farmer had two runs scored. Grant earned the win in eight innings, allowing 10 hits, five earned runs five walks while striking out eight.
