Sophomore Kylee Berndt scored three goals and junior Alexis Beard added two as undefeated Westbrook Christian (24-0-0) posted a 6-0 win over Madison Academy in Thursday’s Class 1A-3A state soccer semifinals in Huntsville.

The Lady Warriors will play Holy Spirit Catholic (16-0-0) for state championship today (May 13) at 5 p.m. at the John Hunt Soccer Complex.

Despite two interruptions caused by lightning delays, Westbrook controlled the match from start to finish. Kendall Sharp scored a goal, while Mary Reid Goodwin, Makenna Beard, Avery Bane and Olivia Strickland each had one assist.

Goalkeeper Mattie Loyd had one save as the Warriors defense limited the Mustangs (18-6-1) to just one shot on goal.
