Proposed Administrative Order on Consent Pursuant to RCRA Section 7003

Techtrix, Inc.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is seeking public comments on a proposed settlement agreement with Techtrix, Inc. The EPA will not make a final decision on whether to enter the agreement until after considering public comments on the proposed agreement. Waste and materials have been improperly managed at the Techtrix Facility located at 525 Plainview Street, Gadsden, Alabama 35901, resulting in conditions that the EPA has determined may pose an imminent and substantial endangerment to human health and the environment.

The EPA proposes to issue an Order pursuant to Section 7003 of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) to Techtrix. This order requires Techtrix to accurately inventory, appropriately manage and dispose of wastes to meet RCRA requirements. The Administrative Record (AR), which forms the basis for the EPA’s decision, the Draft Order, and a Fact Sheet are available for review at https://semspub.epa.gov/src/collection/04/AR66940. The comment period will run for 14-days, beginning on August 27, 2021 and ending on September 10, 2021.
