Imagination Place Children’s Museum at the Mary G. Hardin Center for Cultural Arts opened Let It Snow on Nov. 15.
The interactive, hands-on exhibit kicked-off its third year in the children’s exhibit hall on the main floor of the Hardin Center.
Let It Snow is an indoor winter wonderland complete with a snowball pit, a snowslide, sock-footed ice skating rink, a snow pit where kids can make snow angels and more.
The Festival of Trees: Rock and Roll Christmas opened concurrently with Let It Snow.
The Festival of Trees features over 30 trees decorated by elementary school children and non-profit agencies using the theme Rock and Roll Christmas.
The grand opening celebration on Nov. 15 featured the Downtown Dance Conservatory performed excerpts from The Old World Nutcracker that it will be performing at Wallace Hall on Nov. 28.
In addition to the dance artists, a woodwind quartet from the Etowah Youth Orchestra performed holiday music selections.
A punch and cookie reception was hosted by the sorority AKA.
Admission is $6 for adults, $5 for children and children up to 24 months are free. Members of the Hardin Center for Cultural Arts are also free.
Admission includes all day access to Let It Snow, Festival of Trees and KidsTown USA, the permanent installation at Imagination Place, as well as all exhibits of the Hardin Center.
The Mary G. Hardin Center for Cultural Arts is open Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 1-5 p.m.
