Nomad’s Land purchases building

Nomad’s Land, a not for profit organization, has recently expanded.

In June 2010, the Hansons’ Jesus Loves You and the Armisteads’  Nomad’s Supply joined together to begin building Nomad’s Land.

Both families had each been separately traveling and dreaming of creating a place for the nomadic subculture that would offer them hospitality and foster spiritual growth.

The families began to work together to make that vision a reality and purchased the property that is now Nomad’s Land.

Once a horse farm and single-family residence, members of Nomad’s Land began transforming the property into a creative expression of community living.

The opportunities for innovative and imaginative projects, from natural and unconventional building to organic gardening and sustainable living, are a large part of daily life at Nomad’s Land.

Now the goal of Nomad’s land has expanded. The group recently purchased an old repair shop at 1229 Malone Street in Gadsden.

The future store will sell recycled building materials, such as old bricks and other materials frequently leftover from building projects.

Another item the future store hopes to sell will be tiny houses made from recycled shipping containers and other materials.

Tiny houses are compact living spaces, supplied with the necessities and not much else.

The compact spaces have recently grown in popularity due to shows on the subject, such as Tiny House Nation, where the houses are 300 square feet or less.

The area will also house an office for Kingdom Promotions.

In Kansas, the Hansons’ began Kingdom Promotions, which organizes indie-Christian events and helps ministries and non-profit groups do creative fundraising by staffing nationwide events.

The group is looking for building supply donations.
