Obituary – Lawanda Fay Young Waters

Lawanda Fay Young Waters, age 86, of Falkville, passed away June 13, 2023. Funeral services will at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 17, at Morgan Funeral Chapel with Brother James O. Wallace and Porter Burt-ram officiating. Burial will be at Rainbow Memorial Gardens/. Visitation will be from 6 until 9 p.m. on Friday June 16, at Morgan Funeral Chapel.

After a career at South Central Bell, Lawanda stayed home and raised her girls. She was a devout Christian and member of Higher Ground Baptist Church. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She had many friends that she loved.

Lawanda was preceded in death by her husband T.C. Waters; her parents Minnie Alice Honey and Noah Young; and her sisters Pat Drake and Linda Patrick.
Lawanda is survived by daughters Dedra (Brian) Merriman and Kim (T.J.) Hollingsworth; grand-children, Daphne Stewart and Geoffrey Martin; great-grandchildren Ryan, Wyatt and Amelia Stewart; and brother Roy (Lorette) Honey.

Pallbearers are Curtis Merriman, Sonny Paul, Matthew Samples, Toney Merriman, Ryan Stewart, Tim Hollingsworth, Wyatt Stewart and Geoffrey Mar-tin.
Honorary pallbearers are Brian Merriman, T.J. Hollingsworth and Heath Usry.

Special thanks are extended to special friends Sue McBurnett, Peggy Snell, Peggy South, Heath and Patricia Usry, Carmia Cartee and Fay Taylor.
