The votes have been tabulated for the Alabama Power/Messenger Power to Friday Night contest between Southside and St. Clair County high schools, and the Saints emerged as the winners. However, due to the good sportsmanship and overwhelming participation of Southside High School and the communities of Southside and Rainbow City, the Alabama Power Foundation and National Center for Sports Safety will present a $1,000 check to SHS at a home football game this season. On behalf of Alabama Power and the NCSS, The Messenger wishes to thank all those who supported the Panthers during the recent contest.
