Safeway wins waste disposal award

The Glencoe Award Program selected Safeway Industrial Service LLC for the 2014 Best of Glencoe Award in the Hazardous Waste Disposal category. Safeway held a ribbon cutting on Monday, Oct. 6 for its new universal management waste program. The program allows people to safely dispose of unsafe waste many businesses don’t realize are unsafe. The biggest example is fluorescent lights, which contain mercury. Safeway Industrial can send businesses a box to be filled with the lights and shipped back to Safeway for proper disposal. Safeway Industrial LLC has been in business for 23 years.

Each year, the Glencoe Award Program identifies companies that the program believes have achieved exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category. These are local companies that enhance the positive image of small business through service to their customers and the community. These exceptional companies help make the Glencoe area a great place to live, work and play.

Various sources of information were gathered and analyzed to choose the winners in each category. The 2014 Glencoe Award Program focuses on quality, not quantity. Winners are determined based on the information gathered both internally by the Glencoe Award Program and data provided by third parties.

The Glencoe Award Program is an annual awards program honoring the achievements and accomplishments of local businesses throughout the Glencoe area. Recognition is given to those companies that have shown the ability to use their best practices and implemented programs to generate competitive advantages and long-term value.

The Glencoe Award Program was established to recognize the best of local businesses in our community The organization works exclusively with local business owners, trade groups, professional associations and other business advertising and marketing groups. The organization’s mission is to recognize the small business community’s contributions to the U.S. economy.
