The LACS to bring ‘hick hop’ to Riverfest

The LACS, a country rap and Southern rock duo, consists of hip hop artist Clay “Uncle Snap” Sharpe and Brian “Rooster” King. The duo will perform at 7:30 p.m. on June 14, on the main stage at Riverfest.

Riverfest 2014 will bring “hick hop” to Gadsden with the LACS, a southern rap duo from Baxley, Ga.

The LACS will take the Riverfest stage at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 14.

The LACS consist of hip hop artist Clay “Uncle Snap” Sharpe and lead vocalist/guitarist Brian “Rooster” King.

With their blue collar backgrounds, they have worked all types of jobs and framed many a house to earn enough money to keep their musical dreams alive.

The LACS have an album in the works.

Their songs include “Country Road,” and “Kickin’ Up Mud.”

The LACS have recorded three albums for Backroad Records, a subsidiary of Average Joe’s Entertainment, an independent label co-owned by fellow country rap artist Colt Ford.

Their second Backroad Records album, 190 Proof, entered the Billboard charts in April 2012.

Last week, The Chamber, Gadsden-Etowah County announced Jacksonville native Riley Green  will open Friday night’s performances at this year’s Riverfest.

Riverfest 2014 is slated for June 13 and 14. The Chamber will announced more acts for Riverfest in coming weeks.
