Theatre of Gadsden to perform Smoke on the Mountain

The Theatre of Gadsden will perform the play Smoke on the Mountain on May 8, 9, 10, 15, 16 and 17. The Friday and Saturday shows will be at 7:30 p.m. and the Sunday shows will be at 2:30 p.m. The shows will be performed at The Ritz located at 310 Wall Street in Alabama City.

Smoke on the Mountain centers around the eccentric Sanders family in 1938 North Carolina. The family performs bluegrass gospel music and witnesses with hilarious stories about important life events.

The play features eight cast members and an incredible crew for costumes, set, lights and sound.

Director Mike Beecham says that the 24 bluegrass gospel songs make the show incredible. He is a huge fan of the show and has directed it 11 times before.

“It’s two hours of music and entertainment,” said Beecham.

Tickets are $12 for students, seniors and military.

General Admission is $14. Tickets for groups of ten or more get a discount at $10 each, and must be purchased by calling 256-547-7469.
